The mission of Suburban Service League is to provide financial assistance,
through fundraising events, to individuals and organizations in need, focusing on the southern suburbs.

Our Events
Our events have raised and allowed us to distribute close to two million dollars since 1963.
Our major fundraising event is the Crystal Ball - held annually in November.

A Letter From Our President
Suburban Service League is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in March 1963 for the purpose of goodwill. Our mission is to provide financial assistance, through fundraising events, to individuals and organizations in need, focusing on the southern suburbs. We currently have 38 active regular members donating their time and talents to this mission. Since 1963, we have been able to raise and distribute almost $2 million to many of our neighbors who were lacking the necessities of life throughout our south suburban communities.
Given that our organization has no administrative costs, we are able to distribute 100% of the money we raise by way of our events. We work closely assisting local organizations that provide services such as shelter to abused women and children; family grief counseling; food for the elderly; youth services to adolescents; food and prescriptions for the homeless; support to the visually impaired; and programs for families of children or adults who are developmentally delayed or disabled. We also award several scholarships on an annual basis to female students who wish to continue their college education at Moraine Valley Community College, Prairie State College and Joliet Junior College. Additionally, we help individual families who may need a little extra assistance with a medical bill or a house payment while temporarily going through a difficult period.
None of this could be possible without the assistance and generous support of concerned individuals and businesses that every year come to join us and sponsor our major fundraising event, which is our Crystal Ball. This year we are busy preparing to venture into a majestic journey to “The Enchantment of Camelot”. We hope to provide a “regal” evening that our guests will enjoy on November 5, 2011 at Olympia Fields Country Club. Our gala will feature a live and silent auction with approximately 250 – 300 guests in attendance. Due to the generosity of many in our area, Suburban Service League will confidently continue its tradition of assisting those in need in our communities.
Our members, friends, sponsors and supporters have for years given us the means to make a difference in the lives of many. We cannot THANK them enough!! On behalf of the members of Suburban Service League, I would like to express our gratitude for those devoted efforts in assisting us achieve our goal of serving those who are disadvantaged.
